"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

Watch an interview online with Hunter S. Thompson at the excellent Democracy Now! website.

Maddox is writing a book. I love America.

Jack Kerouac
On The Road
The original manuscript is unfurled and on display at the University of Iowa Museum of Art. More information can be found at the official Jack Kerouac website.

I've been spending a lot of time away from this blog because I just started another blog called CSS Flow. The purpose of the blog is to post all the CSS links there and keep this place mostly for other things. The new blog is formatted simply, with each post being a collection of related links on a certain aspect of web design.

Before I forget: My favorite swear word. This is something I blogged a while ago but the file disappeared. Hopefully this link will last a bit longer.

Orangutans

Friday, February 11, 2005

I have always been intrigued by the word Orangutans.

A new interview with Neal Stephenson.

Sometimes you run across a new blog and you think "that's a clever idea. Why am I consistently less clever than that guy?" At least that's what you think when you are me.

Life Hacker Blogs Me

Friday, February 04, 2005

A few months ago I created a webpage. The page was called "Everything you Need to Know about Writing Successfully: In Ten Minutes". It was an article Stephen King published a while ago and I found it on the internet. I decided it looked pretty crappy [ html-wise ] for such a good article, and I re-formatted it with [ CSS ], uploaded it, and posted a link to it on my blog.

NOW look at it. I have no explanation for the sudden popularity of this page, other than the continuing popularity of Stephen King.

It's even been linked at Life Hacker.

A Slight Rebellion: J.D. Salinger

Wednesday, February 02, 2005

"ON vacation from Pencey Preparatory School for Boys ("An Instructor for Every Ten Students"), Holden Morrisey Caulfield usually wore his chesterfield and a hat with a cutting edge at the "V" in the crown. While riding in Fifth Avenue buses, girls who knew Holden often thought they saw him walking past Saks' or Altman's or Lord & Taylor's, but it was usually somebody else."

—excerpt from Slight Rebellion off Madison by J.D. Salinger

I just got onto the habit of going to the del.icio.us homepage and refreshing it every few seconds to watch the spill of new links. It's addictive and it's driving me insane.
