Strangeminds.Com

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Just back from a visit to one of my favorite writing sites, Strangeminds.Com. Favorite in a notorious way I guess. It's been a well populated site for years but visitors have slacked off in the past few months. But hey, visit anyway and contribute a story, a thought, a criticism...

Very beautiful haunting photographs at Chromasia. Great design too.

Water towers that look like something else

One of my Micro Fiction stories has been published over at Zygote. Won't you please take a moment and read The Metrosexual? I know you will and thank you in advance. You are so nice.

Download Microsoft Core Fonts

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

Although the Microsoft Core Fonts are no longer available as a free download at the Microsoft Site they are available through links on the Archive.Org preserved version of the same page. I found out this interesting fact through an old Blogging.Biz post while searching for a free download of the Andale Mono font. It seems the downloads are still available through Microsoft, you just have to know where to look.

Interesting, ain't it? Some coders like the Andale Mono font so this post might be of interest to them. The downloads are self-extracting .exe files.

The New Absurdist

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Wow it's 2006 [!] and I have a feeling it's going to be a great year (for rich fat white americans) and I'm really looking forward to living it.

Important web news: The New Absurdist is a modest but persistant Micro Fiction site I often visit, and have been a part of for some time. What you do there is you read, upload, and comment on Absurdist Fiction. The interactive part has been redesigned and you should check it out. Me? I'm already there.

In CSS news, the Web Standards Group mailing list of I N S A N E L Y useful links now has a home. Over at web-graphics the top 20 web design bookmarks of 2005. Hint: they are good ones, especially the Worn Type technique. For all us non-Photoshop owners.
