"American astronauts are in trouble," said the voice on the gravity-phone. "Bad trouble, Billy. It's space poisoning. There's not much time."

Billy felt his nerves explode. Hot runners of electricity raced through his taut young body at maybe 2 or 3 times the speed of light. "This is bad," he said to Space Commander. "Is American Spaceship ready to go?"
"Yes," said Space Commander. "I ordered emergency refueling with XXX space-gasoline as soon as I got the word. Astro-mechanics are doing the final checks now."
